Good and evil doesn’t just come to man but, it has a root from the heart of man. Just as a good tree produces a good fruit and a corrupt tree will always produce a corrupt fruit.
We should however, know that a good tree will never produce a corrupt fruit and vice versa, same thing apply to men, the position of your heart will determine if you have a good or evil heart, because a good hear will always produce a good heart while evil heart will always produce evil heart. “For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit”. –Luke 6:43.
In verse 45 of the same chapter the bible says “a good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth that which is evil: for the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks”. That verse is simply saying treasure or the heart can be in two folds: the good one and the evil one.
Now what is treasure?
According to the dictionary treasure is any single thing that one value greatly or something you consider being precious.
I know that most people when they hear treasure the will always think it’s all about good things including myself though, not until my study on it. Let me tell you that treasure can be in two folds (majorly) like I said earlier but it’s depend on the root that treasure is coming from. There are different classifications of treasures but I will start with the most important one;
The first is HEART TREASURE: this is what defines a man, how? Like I said it’s in two folds good and evil. If you have a good heart treasure you are definitely a good man. In other words if you have evil heart treasure then you are an evil man and you show forth which is evil for the bible says for the “abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.”
Another type of treasure is the PHYSICAL TREASURE like money, gold, diamond, mineral resources and so on. All these are good treasures on their own because they were created by God for His glorification and usefulness of man. (I Timothy 4:4). But do you know how things can become evil? How? Right? Okay, the way you source for these treasures will determine the goodness and evil of it. Several people have killed their colleagues, fellow brothers all because of money. Most people stole that gold, diamond chain you see on them. Some went as far as finding any means to get money to buy all these things which are evil and what you get with evil is evil. The bible says “the LOVE of money is the root of all evil”. That’s another topic on its own but we should know that the Bible didn’t say “Money is the root of all evil” but the “LOVE” and when you love something, I can assure you that you will go extra miles to get that thing.
Now, all these still bounce back to your heart, when you open your heart for the love of money, you become slave to money and evil thought will start arising which affects the treasure in you and this will bring out the result in you.
Note that you can only love through your heart and you can stop loving also through your same heart.
In short the seed of good and evil is decided by you! You are the determinant of the one you want to nurture in your heart. Either good or evil.
