CONTRAVENTION – Morning Hour Day 1

This morning we will be seizing the day by charging ourselves on some important aspect of prayer.

The focus this morning is Understanding how to prevail in prayer.
For you to prevail in prayer, YOU MUST ENGAGE IN A CRY OF THE SPIRIT: when I say cry of the Spirit, I do not mean you should be shouting deliberately and start disturbing your neighbors.
…and for you to engage in cry of the spirit you must be spiritually conscious. Luke 22: 43-43

You know a cry of the Spirit commits God to respond; because praying in the Spirit is praying according to the will of God and when you pray according to His will, He hearth us! I John 5:14
Also a cry of the Spirit helps you to pray the right and best prayer appropriate at that time.

Likewise the Spirit also helepth our infirmities; for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groaning which cannot be uttered. – Romans 8:26

Secondly to prevail in prayer, YOU MUST APPROACH HIS THRONE WITH BOLDNESS.
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in the time of need. – Hebrews 4:16
Boldness means lack of fear, the ability to be confidence.

On a normal day none of us should have the boldness and courage to initiate any communication with God, I mean God Almighty ooo, because we not qualify for it in the first instance. We all Sinners (follow me) I John 1:8 says if we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us! That has in the first place, barred us from communicating with God. What boldness do we have then?

The boldness is not in us, the boldness is not in our righteousness, the boldness is not even in our prayer, the boldness is not in the depth of Rehma nor for our eloquent (for the professor in the house).
The Boldness is in JESUS. We approach him on the platform of JESUS CHRIST. ….for this is the confidence we have him… I John 5:14
Come boldly to the throne of grace is believing in him because there is no how you want to have confidence in someone you do not believe.

However don’t mistake Boldness for Pride
When you approach with all these, I am righteous, I know the scriptures, can speak very well bla bla. Then your version will be Let us therefore come PROUDLY unto the throne of grace.

And don’t forget, God resist the proud, so don’t be surprised if you weren’t prevailing in prayer. It not the devil this time around, it is you PRIDE!. Change your approach.
