CONTRAVENTION – Morning Hour Day 2

Thirdly, for you to prevail in prayer, WE MUST BE DESPERATE FOR ANSWERS: The word desperation is not just a negative word but it’s rather depends on how you use it. The question is what are you desperate for?

Desperation makes your expression bold enough in faith. Its helps your mentality and allow your focus to be on that particular point.

Jacob missed his first encounter, no wonder he said …and the Lord was here and I knoweth not. But this made him to be desperate the next time he had the opportunity. That’s why he said I will not let you go, except thou bless me Gen. 32:26
You see, sometimes you need desperation to deliver what has been said concerning you.

Friends between Thus says the LORD and it shall come to pass there is a thin line and that thin line could be your Action which might need desperation.
It was recorded that Jabez was more honourable than his brethren. But when you look at his life, you see that he lack honour. Not until he was desperate enough, he didn’t take delivery of what it was said concerning him. No wonder he prayed a desperate prayer in I Chronicles 4:10.

In the Old Testament, it was recorded that there are only few prophets, whose words never go void. Prophet Isaiah was one of them.

He told Hezekiah to put his house in order because he will surely die and not live.
But Hezekiah was desperate enough to overturn the prophecy. That is why I said earlier that between thus says the Lord and it shall come to pass, there is a thin line. Which is your action.

The desperate action Hezekiah took then, delivered additional fifteen years to his life.
The question is how desperate are you on the Altar of prayer?
Is that your desperation genuine?

On a finally note, for you to prevail in prayer YOU MUST PERSEVERE: No matter what, a genuine desperation will always give room for perseverance.

To be sincere one of the features of prayer is perseverance. You keep pressing until you faith has delivered it unto you.
Even the judge in Luke 18: 1-8 testified how the widow troubled him until her request was granted.

…and for your to put perseverance to work you must be patience enough, that is why Heb 10:36 says For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.
Have you noticed that Elijah exhibited perseverance in I kings 18:41-45. It was after the Seventh time that the cloud began to form. I mean 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7.

May be some of us have not yet waited till our own appointed seventh time that is why we haven’t seen the cloud formed yet.
