Luke 10:17-20 KJV
And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.
And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.
The seventy disciples of Jesus sent out to preach, teach and deliver from the hands of the Devils came back rejoicing that the demons were subject to their commands.
But while they returned rejoicing at the miracle and wonders they performed at their various outreaches, Jesus replied and spoke to them, something different:
Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.
Jesus told them not to rejoice in the fact that they had cast out Devils and had performed wonders and the Devils were subject to their commands on the ministration fields, but on the fact that: their names were written in Heaven.
In Thais passage, Jesus made us to see that it is more important for your name to be written in heavens than all the miracles and wonders you could perform in your earthly ministry….Jesus made us to see that HEAVEN IS MORE IMPORTANT AND ABSOLUTELY MORE SIGNIFICANT THAN ALL YOUR EARTHLY MINISTRY SERVICES.
But do you know that majority of us think very differently from the way the Lord Jesus is thinking. We think our Earthly ministry services are more important than making Heaven. We think that our wonders and miracles are of more significance than ensuring our names are written in the Book of Life.
That is why many of us would still be living immorally and carelessly, doing whatever we want to do, living like those who do not know Christ at all, and at the same time working fervently in the church as Church Workers.
Some are full of immoral habits, but they don’t care about that as long as they can sing very well in the choir and perform their duties well as Ushers and Sunday school Teachers and Church Welfare Officers.
They have been carried away by their services to the Lord and forgotten that their life is not right with God. They have been so useful to God in their ministry and church and have never paid attentions to their various ungodly characters.
Hear this Word of Jesus:
Matthew 7:20-23 KJV
Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Before Jesus the Christ, your beautiful and honorable services do not count in His presence if your Life is not beautiful and Honourable in His sight.
Hear again: BEFORE JESUS CHRIST, YOUR BEAUTIFUL AND HONOURABLE SERVICES DO NOT COUNT IN HIS PRESENCE IF YOUR LIFE IS NOT BEAUTIFUL AND HONOURABLE IN HIS SIGHT.
Your Singing and Acting and Ushering and various sacrificial services becomes vain if your life is not holy and acceptable in His sight.
Therefore, INSTEAD OF GLORYING IN YOUR VARIOUS SERVICES IN HIS CHURCH AND PRESENCE, PAUSE…..AND LOOK INWARD….IF YOUR LIFE IS PLEASING TO HIM….because all these services and works will not count again if you are called home anytime to appear in His presence for Reckoning.
Therefore, LET’S FORGET ABOUT YOUR SERVICES FOR NOW AND LET’S LOOK AT ALL THESE. Your anger…your Proud Attitude, your arrogance and falsehood…your immoral life and acts of fornication and adultery…your cheating and stealing and lying habit….your ungodly characters….ALL THESE ARE WHAT WILL COUNT ABOVE YOUR SERVICES IN HIS PRESENCE, UNLESS THERE IS A REPENTANCE AND A CHANGE OF LIFE.
May the Lord bless you today as you make a Decision.
