Texts: James 4:6, John 13:2-13, Proverbs 22:4, Jeremiah 17:9-10
Humility is the pathway to greater grace; when you are truly humble, you come to a point of total reverence for God. The bible says God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.
Lucifer before the fall was adorned with glory but he got to a point where he saw himself greater than God, he longed for the position of God and as a result he fell and became a nonentity till date.
The Bible in Daniel 4 talked about Nebuchadnezzar,he came to a point where he made arrogant statements and spoke as though he was God, he was turned to a beast in the process.
The consequences of pride are beyond our imagination, when God begins to bless you and your anointing begins to increase the tendencies to be proud might set in.
Humility is not denying what God has given you. There are many people who have refused the benefits of redemption and they call it humility, in fact one of the definitions of pride is refusing to acknowledge who God has called you. Simplicity and humility are two different things; there are simple people who are extremely proud and there are many poor people who are arrogant. If God says you are blessed then you are.
Humility is not just an act of piety, it comes from a revelation, until you have that revelation, you are not ready to be humble. The bible says “by the mercies of God that we are not consumed”, let this be your revelation for true humility.
Always learn to drawback and remember, “Thou shall remember the lord, your God”. If you want to last in life and ministry, you have to be truly humble.
