DRUG ADDICTION CAN FRY YOUR BRAIN

Is this what you really want for yourself?
There’s no fun in doing all this
There’s no pleasure attached to this
There’s no happiness that comes after doing this.

All you get is restless mind
Bad taught
Bad initiatives
Bad motivation
Bad character exhibition.
Why not let’s put an end to this
Say no to drug abuse.

These drugs include heroin, cocaine, amphetamine, ecstasy, GHB, marijuana, tramadol, and the like. A lot of people taking these drugs are oblivious of the fact that whenever they feel high from taking these drugs, their brain is affected in the process. It is being damaged little by little until it gets fried. A fried brain is a brain that has been badly damaged.

A substance that is very common in my country (Nigeria) is marijuana. On several occasions, I have seen young men and women, as well as old people, smoking it. I have also seen young men whose brain have been fried due to prolonged use of it. They eventually lost their mind and could not function normally. Lord have mercy! Sometimes ago, in the year 2019, I saw a handsome young man who I think should be in his 20s. His clothes were so dirty and his hair was unkept. He was carrying many items together within a bag and he was speaking words that had no meaning.

I moved close to share God’s word with him but he just couldn’t understand anything I said. Later, another man close to us told me that the young man was once a drug addict who took drugs to the point where his brain was damaged. On hearing that, I felt great pity for this young man.

Many people in the world today are also in the habit of injecting hard substances into their body. This chemicals will relax their brain but would eventually damage it and render them useless. Let’s quickly see the book of Isaiah:

“Why do you spend money for what is not bread. And your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to me and eat what is good. And let your soul delight in abundance.”
Isa. 55:2 (NKJV)

The above scripture warns people who spend money on things that cannot give them real satisfaction. This scripture also tells them to begin to eat good things. Hard drugs and steroids are not good and only harm people who delight in taking them.
Here are some effects of drug addiction on the brain and health:

1. Impulsiveness
2. Hallucinations
3. Aggressiveness
4. Paranoia
5. Impaired judgement
6. Loss of self control
8. Brain damage
9. Heart conditions
10. Breast development in men
11. Increase in body temperature
12. Death

It is rather unfortunate that many people are in psychiatric hospitals and rehab centres because of drug addiction that has damaged their brain.

I pray for everyone fighting with drug addiction and as you connect with this prayer, I declare that anything you find yourself doing against your will shall be terminated today in Jesus name.
