Personally, I don’t subscribe to cursing spiritual children or anyone at all because that’s not “my ministry”, and that’s not “our ministry” as bond servants of our Lord Jesus Christ.
God never sent anyone to curse spiritual children; He sent us to bless and to build.
There’s no where in Scriptures where we’re commanded to place a curse on erring sons and daughters in ministry.
God has put the blessing in our mouth, therefore we release it to the edification of the saints.
Till Jesus comes, we would still see “sons and daughters” who just have a rebellious heart and who will never bend to any form of correction.
We would still see people whose mission is to take advantage of the man of God, use him, dump him and even go ahead to malign him.
There will always be “sons and daughters” that the father will never pray to have such again and there will also be those that will cause the father’s heart to always rejoice, and that’s the way ministry is.
You see; in ministry you have to protect your heart. Don’t nurse grudges or harbour offences in your heart and don’t ever curse anyone.
Love is still the best way in ministry. We’re not called to “destroy” men’s lives; we’re called to “save” lives.
Dad Hagin taught me through his books and tapes NOT TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE DOWNFALL OF ANY MAN.
Jesus rebuked His two disciples who wanted His permission to call down fire on the Samaritans because they rejected His ministry:
Look at what He told them:
LUKE 9:55 -56
But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of.
For the Son of man is not come to destroy men’s lives, but to save them. And they went to another village.
The Holy Spirit always puts words of blessing in our mouth. You see, it is better to “cut off from people” than to “curse them” – especially when they have become adamantly unrepentant.
Walking in love and having largeness of heart, to my mind, still appears to be the greatest lesson every spiritual father can learn.
Sometimes spiritual children act out of INNOCENCE, IGNORANCE, MANIPULATION, EXTERNAL INFLUENCE or WILFUL REBELLION.
Whichever way, we’re to walk in love. DON’T EVER CURSE SPIRITUAL CHILDREN because no matter the negative things that they do, they’re still bought by the precious blood of the Lamb.
ACTS 20:28
Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, TO FEED THE CHURCH OF GOD, WHICH HE HATH PURCHASED WITH HIS OWN BLOOD.
Already, there are “SPIRITUAL LAWS” in place which affect all of us – whether we do good or bad, so we need to be very careful!
Ministers have a duty to deal with ANGER. Elisha was a product of a double portion anointing on the life of Elijah but the guy i.e. Gehazi who was supposed to continue the flow was cursed by Elisha.
Gehazi was wrong. He took advantage of his master. He knew that even as a prophet, Elisha didn’t know everything except what the Lord revealed to him.
He was there when his master made this statement about the Shunemite woman:
2 KINGS 4:27
And when she came to the man of God to the hill, she caught him by the feet: but Gehazi came near to thrust her away. And the man of God said, Let her alone; for her soul is vexed within her: AND THE LORD HATH HID IT FROM ME, AND HATH NOT TOLD ME.
Gehazi must have thought, “So, senior prophets don’t know everything too. Wow Wow Wow. Let me run after Namaan then and get my own ‘seed’ because my master will not know”.
Of course we know the rest of the story. He played all his pranks and did all his antics.
This is where I’m going; Prophet Elisha could have disciplined him and if he rejected correction, release him (my own thinking anyway).
But no; he placed a curse on him and his generations – 2 Kgs.5:27, and by extension there was no one to carry on the work – that original mantle of Elijah that came in double portion dimension on Elisha was just “hanging somewhere in the Spirit”.
It took centuries for it to fall on a young man by the name of John the Baptist – Lk.1:17.
Ministers need to deal with ANGER. Truth is that there are ALL KINDS OF SONS IN MINISTRY, but never let anyone force you to act against your calling – YOU’RE CALLED TO BLESS!
I have experienced EXTREMELY TERRIBLE THINGS in the hands of some sons (which cannot be shared on social media) but we keep walking in love.
Conversely, I have also seen God raise sons of consolation, because in life and ministry, where a leaf falls off, a new branch will grow.
I know the pain that ministers can go through in raising people but you see, God is our Strength and Consolation, and please DON’T EVER CURSE ANYONE.
God told me some years ago that fathers who curse their children end up not having any children again.
Dear man of God, don’t get offended and don’t get embittered. There’s no labour loss in the Kingdom.
Where you might have felt cheated by the people you raised, God has a way of COMPENSATING you way BEYOND YOUR IMAGINATION, but note this; WALKING IN LOVE IS KEY!
Keep ministering to people out of a MOTIVE OF LOVE. Keep building and mending lives as the Lord enables you by His Grace.
Oh, that MENDING aspect will bring you all kinds of backlashes but keep loving and keep your focus intact.
If anyone stubbornly wants to get you into offence, RELEASE THEM rather than CURSING THEM.
Remember; YOUR MINISTRY IS TO BLESS, NOT TO CURSE.
May the Lord help us all!
Amen!!
I trust this is a blessing Sirs and Mas?
Shalom!!!
