“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and forgive their sin.”
2 Chronicles 7:14
Sometimes we ignore a scratch or minor cut until it becomes infected and demands our attention. What started as a small wound can suddenly become a life-threatening injury. If we take a few moments to clean and bandage the small cut, we save ourselves time, trouble, and further treatment down the road when it’s more serious.
Living a life of repentance requires the same kind of attention to the small sins each day. If we ignore them and don’t confess them as soon as we’re aware of them, we risk our sins festering into larger problems, addictions, and idols. We will never be perfect and sin-free this side of heaven; however, we can pursue God wholeheartedly and remain diligent to confess our sins each day.
Don’t allow a small sin to become a big problem. Today, ask for God’s forgiveness, cleansing grace, and healing love.
