“OFFERING PROFANE FIRE…OF MINISTERING WITH UNHOLY LIFE”

Leviticus 10:1-3a
1. Then Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, each took his censer
and put fire in it, put incense on it, and offered profane fire before the Lord,
which He had not commanded them.

2. So fire went out from the Lord and devoured them,
and they died before the Lord.
3. And Moses said to Aaron, “This is what the Lord spoke, saying:
‘By those who come near Me I must be regarded as holy;
And before all the peopleI must be glorified.’ ”

Aaron and his two sons had just been consecrated into priesthood by The Lord (Leviticus 8:1-6), And in the last verse of chapter 9, Moses and Aaron had just came out from the presence of The Lord and blessed the whole congregation after which the glory of God came down and fire came out from the Lord’s presence to consume the offering on the altar.

Leviticus 9:23-24
23. And Moses and Aaron went into the tabernacle of meeting, and came
out and blessed the people. Then the glory of the Lord appeared to all the people,
24. and fire came out from before the Lord and consumed the burnt offering
and the fat on the altar. When all the people saw it, they shouted and fell on their faces.

They had all just seen the glory of The Lord. The two elder sons of Aaron had just been commissioned to ministered along side their father. It was a great honor and preveledge. The new commission had entitled them to a glamorous uniform. It was pretigious. The glory of The Lord had appeared to them all and they saw fire of God coming from the Lord’s presence and accepting the offering on the altar. It was awesome and glorious. The people shouted with awe and fell on their faces with reference. God had literally visited the people.

Next, while Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron were ministering before The Lord, they brought into His presence, a strange fire, a profane fire, which He had not ordered. The glory of The Lord reacted instantly and released the fire again, and the fire enveloped them and consumed them. They died instantly.

The verse 3 of Chapter 10 was explicit on the reason for this abrupt judgment.
“And Moses said to Aaron, “This is what the Lord spoke, saying:
‘By those who come near Me I must be regarded as holy;
And before all the peopleI must be glorified.’ ”
These two young priest had approached The Lord’s presence to offer offering and sacrifices before Him with unholy hands and sin-full hearts. The glory of The Lord reacted against that service.

Every drama outreach is a sacrifice on His altar. Every movie you make is a sacrifice on His altar. Every Teaching and Crusades and every Conference and Program you organize is a huge Sacrifice on the Lord’s Alrar.

Every film you released to the TV stations and satellite channels is a huge sacrifice on His altar. So also is every rigorous drama rehearsal, every film outreach, every mission trip to short or distant destinations, every sleepless night on film locations, every moment in front of cameras, giving away of your DVDs and VCDs, every drama conference and workshops you organize for people, all the money you spent, the numerous sacrificial giving and laborious efforts on drama ministration trips including all the journeys to numerous ministrations, day and night. They are all sacrifices on the altar of God.

However, how does God view all these sacrifices which cover up the spirit of arrogance and pride; the spirit of lustful desires and jealousy; the spirit of hatred and vengeance; all these unforgiving spirits, all these covetousness and greed that makes you collect money from executive producers without giving the cast tangible honorarium and paying some of them with “God Bless You”, when you have been given the provision to give them some things.

You have labored well on the film location. You have acted out with your entire life and strength on the film location and your have been given a very little amount as honorarium, and you have been so embittered as you were going back home, almost cursing the producers and almost regretting your coming to the film location.

Well, how has this attitude of yours not destroyed your heavenly rewards for what you have done? How has this attitude not become a profane fire on the beautiful sacrifice you have placed on the Lord’s altar?

This unholy intimacy between your finance and fiancee, this lustful spirit, this terrible anger of yours, this unwholesome arrogance that you call “no nonsense attitude”, this destructive pride you termed “the King’s child’s royal behavior”, this business and official cheating you described as “Godly wisdom”, this bureaucratic unrighteousness which you named “witty smartness”: won’t these unGodly characters rubbish all your Godly sacrifices and offerings on His altar?

You sing so beautifully. You have made many inspiring albums. You have ministered in many large programs and blessed many lives. But won’t all these lustful fashions and deliberate making up of face seductively in ways that men in office and church look at you uncontrollably not definitely lead to an outburst of fire from the Lord’s presence against you? Just asking.

You dress, you don’t care who stands or fall, they should be able to control their eyes and heart, you reasoned. You preach and sing in cut down cleavage between the breasts and walk about before the people in back-slit micro skirts and you never cared who stands and fall as long as your sonorous voice is high to the admiration of the congregation. How would God view your ministrations against the young and old in Christ who have this terrible stumbling blocks to contend it. Just asking.

Therefore, any presentation of ministerial sacrifices with unholy life and sin-full hearts will still result in deadly consequences.

Even if The Lord God has consecrated and commissioned you into higher visions and ministries, even if you have been called and commissioned into glorious enviable assignments and bestowed with a lot of spiritual gifts and talents as a result of your 30, 40, 50, or 70 day fast, just as Nadab and Abihu were commissioned by God into that prestigious priesthood, yet, when you go about your ministry and ministrations; when you run around in ministerial matters, when you go to your normal daily businesses and duties, let the Spirit of Christ rule over your spirit. So that the glory of The Lord that commissions into higher level would not bring YOU down to zero point.
