Judges 3:12-14
12. And the children of Israel again did evil in the sight of the Lord.
So the Lord strengthened Eglon king of Moab against Israel,because they had done evil in the sight of the Lord.
13. Then he gathered to himself the people of Ammon and Amalek,
went and defeated Israel, and took possession of the City of Palms.
14. So the children of Israel served Eglon king of Moab eighteen years.
Judges 4:1-2
1. When Ehud was dead, the children of Israel again did evil in the sight of the Lord.
2. So the Lord sold them into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan, who reigned in Hazor. The commander of his army was Sisera, who dwelt in Harosheth Hagoyim.
Judges 6:1
Then the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord. So the Lord delivered them into the hand of Midian for seven years,
All through like the above passages, we see instances of The children of God falling into the hands of their enemies whom the Lord Himself had raised up and empowered and anointed to attack God’s people for their disobedience and unfaithfulness to HIM.
I saw that it is like a standing principle of God, to hand over Israel into the hands of their enemies whenever they go astray from Him. He was always in the habit of mobilizing the enemies to come and invade His people whenever their hearts had gone into evils against Him. It was always like using the rod of the enemies on the back of His children.
In Deuteronomy 28:1-2, the Lord said expressly that if we would obey His voice and diligently and carefully observe all His command, then He would make His numerous and abundant blessings come upon us and overtake us.
But in VERSES 15-16, it was a reversal of the entire blessings and divine provisions, it would be a great harvest of crisis and calamities if we turn against His wills and walk our own path.
When I consider this very important aspect of the scripture, I concluded that, SOME OF THE ENEMIES ATTACKS, OPPOSITIONS AND OPPRESSIONS could actually be self-made. When a person has deliberately refused to amend his ways, he has given the enemies the upper hand in his or her life. When a person has laid the foundation of his or her life on falsehood and lies, he or she has given an open invitation to demonic attacks and oppositions.
When a couple has refused to open up to each other, and each of them has strong secrets they are concealing for each other, and THERE are no-go areas of their lives inaccessible to each other; and the wife can not freely look into the text messages or email box or pick the phone of husband and the wife hides her phone from husband, etc When a marriage is built on the foundations of lies and deceits, then, the door of the marriage is opened to various demonic attacks and spiritual oppositions.
When an engaged christian couple has decided to go into sexual immorality ahead of their solemnization and Holy Matrimony, it becomes an open invitation to some marital crisis and inexplicable problems later. Therefore, a lot of afflictions in the household of the Lord end up not being “Afflictions of the Righteous”, but ” Rewards of the Wicked”.
However, there is Good News in the stories of the Israel. Whenever they realize their mistake, they cry unto the Lord God of Mercy. And He was always responding to them.
Judges 3:15
15. But when the children of Israel cried out to the Lord, the Lord raised up a deliverer for them: Ehud the son of Gera, the Benjamite, a left-handed man. By him the children of Israel sent tribute to Eglon king of Moab.
Judges 6:7-8
7. And it came to pass, when the children of Israel cried out to the Lord because of the Midianites,
8. that the Lord sent a prophet to the children of Israel, who said to them,“Thus says the Lord God of Israel:‘I brought you up from Egypt and brought you out of the house of bondage;
So I believe today, that even if Anointed and Empowered enemies have been raised up against anyone, if they would cry unto the Lord for Mercy with repentant heart, the Lord God Himself, would raise a deliverer and rescuer to bring the persons out of the devil’s dungeon. There shall be joy again. It is well with you.
