There’s this mindset that is pervasive in this generation whereby a young minister believes that some other young ministers belong to “THE HAPPENING CREW” but he doesn’t.
Now that’s a dangerous mindset. Whatever name or label we call it, it is extremely dangerous.
That is called “Exceptionism” and it is a direct manifestation of a “self-fulfulling prophecy”.
It is jealousy disguised and wrapped in the sackcloth of emotional appeal and sentimental expression.
It is wrong, and absolutely wrong to designate young ministers in the limelight as “THE HAPPENING CREW” with the intent that THEY ARE THOSE WHO BELONG while others don’t.
Where did we get that from? When people labour faithfully in their calling and Grace shoots them to the limelight, the proper thing is to celebrate the hand of God upon their lives – it’s a plus to the Body of Christ.
Anyone who feels that visibility in the Body of Christ is by “BELONGING” can also start a ministerial association with a group of friends.
Anyone who feels that popularity is by writing Facebook posts and posting pictures can also do same – everyone is free is type.
Anyone who feels that calling himself an “Apostle” is what qualities him to be in THE HAPPENING CREW is also free to go by the title of “Apostle”.
At the end of the day, SUBSTANCE IS WHAT WILL MAKE THE DIFFERENCE.
The sky is wide enough for everyone to fly; there’s no point calling some people “THE HAPPENING CREW”.
Truth is that most young ministers that Grace has brought into the limelight today did not make popularity their goal in ministry; they were simply faithful to what God called them to do and Grace lifted them.
And the very mere fact that you’re not popular does not make you a failure, because POPULARITY is not the proof of SUCCESS IN MINISTRY; it is OBEDIENCE.
Just stay faithful to your God-given assignment with a pure motive.
There are many young ministers out there doing great things for the Lord in their respective spheres and we don’t know their names.
We need to set our priorities right in ministry. And it is childish to prejudge or preempt people.
Rather than reading meanings to the motives of men, face your assignment.
Honestly I read some disturbing stuffs online and I really feel that our generation has not taken sufficient time to learn from history.
Why is it difficult for you as a young minister to celebrate another young minister who perhaps is more popular than you?
Instead of blackmailing anyone that God is using so that I can score a cheap political point, I will rather celebrate them – that’s the Spirit of Christ!
You see, there’s nothing we have that we have not received. I CELEBRATE Grace whenever I see one.
It doesn’t matter who the person is to me – a father, mentor, friend, son or daughter.
In ministry, YOU MAY ACTUALLY BE JEALOUS WHILE YOU’RE CLAIMING TO BE SINCERE.
If you want to go far in ministry, here is one key secret, “Celebrate what God ordains and honour what God Himself has put His honour on”.
God didn’t consult anyone of us to call any young minister and He doesn’t need to consult anyone.
Whether anyone is called Apostle, Prophet Evangelist, Prophet, Teacher, Reverend, etc., it’s none of my business; I have never called anyone into ministry before.
Whether anyone is loud or simple, it’s left to them. Whether they use modern gadgets or bamboo planks to preach the Gospel, it makes no difference.
Do they preach Christ? Do they agree with the Bible? Do they submit to the leadership of the Holy Spirit? Plus Much More!!!
These are the weighter matters to me. Don’t fall into the temptation where you start thinking that some young ministers are showing off while you’re the only one with a pure motive. Did you see their motives?
Don’t cut yourself from the move of God in your day by your words? There’s no “HAPPENING CREW” anywhere; everyone is happening in their own right.
If nobody encourages us, we young ministers should be able to encourage ourselves.
For the record, I don’t buy into anything that casts aspersions on other people’s ministries; I face my work and pray for others.
I run my race and wish others well. I love every young minister like myself. I wish every young minister well.
I know that we’re not “perfect” and I pray for everyone in my generation.
If nothing else, FOR A YOUNG MAN OR WOMAN TO SAY YES TO THE CALL OF GOD WHILE THEIR MATES LOOK FOR LUCRATIVE JOBS IS SOMETHING I WILL NEVER TAKE LIGHTLY.
I would go all the way to encourage such fellow, knowing that it’s a privilege to be a part of what the Lord is doing in the lives of people.
God’s Grace Is Sufficient For Us!
