“FOLLOWING HIM WITHOUT DENYING SELF?”

Mark 8:34
When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also,
He said to them, “Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.

You cannot follow The Lord without denying yourself of some things. As Peter and his colleagues left the great catch of fishes to follow the Master, and Matthew left his tax office to follow Him. Following Him will take some things away from your hand. You will have to drop some things to pick up a cross of sacrifice and dedication to follow him.
Not until you leave all that you need to leave and follow Him, can He make you become whatever He wants to make you.

ONLY HIM CAN MAKE YOU, YOU CAN’T MAKE YOURSELF INTO WHAT HE WANT YOU TO BE, BECAUSE YOU DON’T EVEN KNOW HIS PLAN FOR YOUR LIFE. Some people are afraid to leave their comfort zone.
Some people are scared of the uncertain future and, therefore, cannot go into the mission work The Lord has been calling them for the past six or seven years. They think they can make themselves to be something in life. What can you make yourself to be?

YOU CAN ONLY BE RELEVANT IN LIFE IN WHAT HE HAS CREATED YOU TO BE. And only Him can MAKE YOU be that particular thing, when you FOLLOW HIM.
What was the difference between Joshua and Caleb and the rest ten spies The Lord sent to spy the Canaan Land? One group was following The Lord by faith, believing everything The Lord had said about the land and the other group back off from following His Word, following what they saw.

They were scared of the giants of the land, they never believed wholly everything he Lord said about the Promise Land. So, this decision separated them from their destination. The Lord said none of those people who failed to believe His word and promises concerning the Promise Land would get there except Caleb:

Numbers 14:24
But My servant Caleb, because he has a different spirit in him
and has followed Me fully, I will bring into the land where he went,
and his descendants shall inherit it.
Some children of God are still struggling in life because they failed to follow The Lord wholly with all their life. They are serving The Lord, but they still keep the bad friends The Lord had told them to leave behind. Some sisters still serve The Lord but still finds it difficult to part with their unbeliever fiances.

Some brother love The Lord and are serving Him, but are not following Him fully because of the difficulty in separating themselves from their unbeliever fiancees’.
Do you know that some children of God would have been settled in life if they had followed The Lord fully by disengaging from the job The Lord had told them to leave because the job had hindered them from serving the Lord with all their heart.

Did you read that the descendants of Caleb shall also reap from the obedience of their father to follow The Lord fully? And do you, therefore, realize that our children are directly or indirectly reaping from our decision to either follow or not to follow The Lord fully with all our heart? The implication of this is that, at times, we could be the direct causes of the headache our children are giving to us. When you don’t follow The Lord fully, the result indirectly rubs on our children.

Do you know that doubting the Word and instructions of The Lord for your life translates into not following The Lord fully? Each time you disobey His Words and specific Instructions for your life, you have indicated you are not following Him fully. An entire generation of Israel were cut off from getting to their destination because they did not fully follow The Lord.

Numbers 32:11
Surely none of the men who came up from Egypt, from twenty years old and above, shall see the land of which I swore to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, because they have not wholly followed Me,
Do you know what The Lord said about King Saul?

1 Samuel 15:11
“I greatly regret that I have set up Saul as king, for he has turned back from following Me, and has not performed My commandments.”

Is this not exactly the same way The Lord is feeling over some of His children whom He has promoted and lifted up and blessed financially and materially? They got to the positions without fulfilling the purpose of their being there. They lost focus and derailed in their plans. He had given them good jobs after graduation so that they might influence the top management to do the right thing, but they have been influenced to their side instead.

Because they have not full followed The Lord, and performed all His commandment for putting them there, they would definitely be replaced with a David who would perform all that are in the heart of God.
That is the reason why many children of God never stayed long in a high position before persecutions are mounted against them and they are quickly replaced. It was God who arranged for Jeroboam to replace Solomon (1 Kings 11:29-31), the way God Himself arranges the replacement of His children who fail to fully follow His instructions.

Are you fully following The Lord concerning your ministry? Or you are doing things according to the dictate of your personal reasoning. Are you doing exactly what He asked you to do with the movies you did? Did He told you to take your movies to the campuses or villages or churches with the new movie you just made or He directed you to release it immediately?. Did He tell you to give Him the First Fruit of the ministry and you have spent it for yourself? Did He tell you to increase your tithes and you have not done so? What are the things He told you to do and you have not done? They are all indications of either you are FOLLOWING HIM or not.

Finally, keep this verse of the scripture in your heart:
John 8:12
Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world.
He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”
When you learn to FOLLOW The Lord fully with all your heart, you will not walk in darkness. The light of The Lord will flood your path. You will not be walking in your understanding, but in the wisdom of God. Do you know that when you learn to follow His instructions fully with all your heart, something else follows you also?

Psalms 23:6
“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever.”
When you follow The Lord, you attract GOODNESS and MERCY all the days of your life.
