“AN ALTAR OF HIS PRESENCE”

2 Kings 4:18-21 NKJV
[18] And the child grew. Now it happened one day that he went out to his father, to the reapers.

[19] And he said to his father, “My head, my head!” So he said to a servant, “Carry him to his mother.”

[20] When he had taken him and brought him to his mother, he sat on her knees till noon, and then died.

[21] And she went up and laid him on the bed of the man of God, shut the door upon him, and went out.

The Shunammite woman was gloriously blessed with a child by the prophetic pronouncement of Elisha, after he had been well treated and had enjoyed a great hospitality and had been ushered into the new Guest Room made specially for him.
When I read through the story again, I saw that at a certain age of the boy, he became sick and died on the lap of his mother. then, I read that, the mother took the dead child up to the Room of Elisha.

[21] And she went up and laid him on the bed of the man of God, shut the door upon him, and went out.
It is very interesting that, the Man of God had now become a part of the family, that the Guest Room and the bed of the Prophet were still intact in the house that, the woman had to place the dead child on the “bed of the Man of God”, stepped out of the room and shut the door behind her. She ran to the Prophet at Mount Carmel and reported with tears. The Man of God came with her back into the house, went up into the Room, and prayed and raise the boy up.

NOW…HERE IS THE LESSON.
A LOT OF PEOPLE WOULD RECEIVE MIRACLES FROM THE LORD AND THEN SEND GOD PACKING FROM THEIR LIVES.
A LOT OF PEOPLE WOULD RECEIVE MIRACLES FOR THEIR HOMES AND MARRIAGES, AND SLOW DOWN THE PACE OF THEIR ZEAL AND LOVE FOR GOD.
A LOT OF PEOPLE AFTER GETTING FROM THE LORD, WOULD RECLINE INTO THEIR FORMER WAYS OF LIFE OF LUKEWARMNESS AND LACK OF FAITH AND ZEALS FOR THE THINGS OF GOD.

But This woman, after getting the child which she badly needed from God, still kept the room of the Prophet intact.
She still took care of him there.
She still keep the room intact and safe.
She was very discerning and observant and still continued her hospitality to the Man of God and his servant.
SO WHEN THE DEVIL STRUCK THE MIRACLES SHE GOT FROM THE LORD, SHE PLACED THE MIRACLE ON THE ALTAR OF GOD IN THAT HOUSE.
SHE RAN BACK TO THE SOURCE WHEN CRISIS STRUCK THE HOUSE AND THE MAN OF GOD CAME BACK HOME AND WENT INTO HIS ROOM AND FOUND THE DEAD BOY LAID ON HIS BED. HE SHUT THE DOOR BEHIND HIM AND PRAYED, AND WHEN HE OPENED THE DOOR AGAIN, THE BOY WAS ALIVE.

Imagine if after getting the Miracle of the child, she stopped the hospitality and caring for the Man of God. Imagine if the Man of God had left the house for another house. Imagine if after getting the miracle from God, she had abandoned God and removed the bed and furniture of the room and convert the room to something else, because the Man of God had been sent away. SHE WOULD HAVE GONE BACK TO ZERO POINT, BEFORE THE CHILD WOULD HAVE STILL DIED AND THE ALTAR IN THE HOUSE HAD BEEN DISMANTLED.

Some people, after series of fasting and prayers to secure a promotion, a child or a wife or husband, and after getting what they wanted, they dismantle the Altar they have built in their time of Crisis. Some people would abandon their faith outrightly, after they had been blessed with the miracle of job, of issue of the womb or employment. The love of some people would wax cold and they would be living their sinful lives as before.

WHEN THE CRISIS STRIKE AGAIN, THERE WOULD BE NO PLACE TO TURN.
Therefore, even after getting the miracles from the Lord,
after the Lord blessed you with the desire of your heart,
DO NOT STOP WORSHIPPING HIM.
DO NOT GET HIS MIRACLES AND RUN AWAY,
STAY IN HIM AND WITH HIM.
LOVE HIM AND STILL KEEP HIS ALTAR INTACT IN YOUR HOUSE.

The Presence of the Lord is the only Security for the Miracles and the Goodness you have received from the Lord.
HIS PRESENCE PROTECT YOUR MIRACLES FROM DEVIL’S ASSAULTS.
HIS PRESENCE SECURES THE PROVISIONS YOU GOT FROM HIM,
HIS PRESENCE SHIELDS YOUR LIFE FROM EVILS AND ATTACKS OF THE DEVIL.
***SO DO NOT DRIVE HIS PRESENCE AWAY FROM YOU. KEEP LOVING HIM ALWAYS.

“Lord Jesus, May I not reduce by love for You after all you have done for me.”
Lord Jesus, May my zeal and love and faith in you grow bigger by the day,”
Lord Jesus, may I never grow weary in my zeal for the work of God because of the Miracles I got from You.”
