Just got wind of the passing on to glory of the father of the modern Church Growth Movement, Papa David Yonggi Cho at 85.
All we can say is that IT IS WELL. It touches the heart very deeply but we’re assured of a glorious entry into eternity.
The life of Dr. Cho teaches us that God is not a Respecter of persons, tribes, regions, nations or continents.
Born in the east Asian country of South Korea, he evolved by the power of the Spirit into a mighty collosus for God on a global scale.
Dr. Cho put that little Asian country on the world map, and Yodio Full Gospel Centre became the cynosure of all eyes plus a “tourist destination” for Church leaders around the world.
Many years ago, his books namely “The Fourth Dimension”, “Holy Spirit: My Senior Partner” and others blessed me tremendously in the early days of my Christian life.
Undoubtedly, the subject of “Church Growth” came to the front burner in modern Christian discourse because God used a man from Asia in the person of Dr David Yonggi Cho to become the face of it.
These are men who have laboured so thoroughly and paid their dues, and we honour them very highly.
The legacy of Papa David Yonggi Cho lives on. To an uncommon pioneer who dared to believe against all odds and brought great light to the Body of Christ, we say rest well Sir.
By God’s Grace, this great light will shine around the world and the camp of the saints shall be filled to the praise of the Glory of His Name alone.
