“And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, behold, there stood a man over against him with his sword drawn in his hand: and Joshua went unto him, and said unto him, Art thou for us, or for our adversaries?” (Joshua 5: 13)
That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.
It is instructive to observe that in the generations of the children of Israel, there were men who, with Joshua, wandered in the wilderness and even died in the wilderness. Most of these men died without seeing the promise that God made to them. They started their journey but did not get to their destination. They began but were swallowed by their journeys. They began the journey to their Promised Land but never arrived.
Friend, I pray for you: as you embark on the journey to your Promised Land, you will arrive at your destination. You will move from the wilderness until you step into your possession. You will move from the place where you are to the place where your dreams will come true. You will keep making progress until the fullness of your portion comes into your hand. You will keep moving until you hit your target.
Joshua had contemporaries who began but ended in the wilderness, but he arrived at the Promised Land. What cut short the journey of others did not cut short his own journey. Hear me as I hear the Lord: what stopped those around you will not stop you. What stopped your fathers will not stop you. What stopped your contemporaries will not stop you. What stopped those in your environment will not stop you.
You will not be counted amongst those that died in the wilderness. You will not be counted amongst those who died without seeing the Promised Land. You will not be counted amongst those whose journeys to their Promised Lands ended on the way. You will not be counted amongst those whose efforts were aborted before it could yield results. You will not be counted amongst those who died empty handed.
As you embark on your journey to your Promised Land, you will not stop on the way. You will hit your target.
Proverbs 4: 18 says: “But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.”
Declare With Me: What stopped others will not stop me; I will arrive at my Promised Land, in Jesus’ name!
