QUESTION OF THE DAY: What makes Church?

What is the church? Today’s church could be a building, a denomination or even a Sunday meeting. However, none of these definitions are particularly Biblical.

The Bible primarily describes the New Testament church as believers meeting together in small congregations in someone’s home.

They met for the purpose of looking to Jesus, praising the Lord, receiving direction from the Lord, or following through with that direction. The primary purpose of the early New Testament church was to build each other up in the faith. Therefore, no matter what type of church you go to today, small, large, home church or mega-church, you should find a church where each believer has a part of the ministry of Jesus Christ.

You should find a church where you can minister to one another, exhort one another, and encourage one another as you exercise your spiritual gift with one another. We would all benefit by meeting with a group of believers in this way.
