“WAITING FOR HIS TIMING”

Luke 1:5-7
5. There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the division of Abijah. His wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elizabeth.

6. And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.
7. But they had no child, because Elizabeth was barren, and they were both well advanced in years.

I know a notable, highly respected minister couples. I love them so much. I have sat under their ministrations and have been blessed several times. The man of God have played roles in my ministry and they are full of zeals and passions for The Lord and His kingdom. They have been great blessings to several people and have dedicated many babies for their congegations.

When services are over, many children of the congregation will run to them to greet them, and the man of God will be shaking the hands of the children one after the other in greetings. Whenever new babies are brought for dedication in the church, the wife of the man of God would be so happy, laughing loud and singing high. This wonderful couple have been married as fervent christians since their youthful age. The man of God and his wife have devoted their live to the service of The Lord and are highly passionate and anointed pastors,…..BUT THEY HAVE NO CHILDREN BECAUSE THE WIFE IS STILL WAITING.

There is another minister couple we know outside of Nigeria. They are pastors every believer should pray to have. Too good and nice and full of pastoral Spirit. They are very loving couple, sold out to The Lord in service and sacrifice. They have been great blessings to many young growing ministries and pastor over a very vibrant congregation. The wife is like mother to the children of the church members as she is found of dancing with them and blessing them and placing them on her lap to lace their shoes and adjust their clothes.

They are both brilliant worshipers and dancers before the Lord. They are so full of life and hope…..BUT THEY HAVE NO CHILDREN AND THY BOTH WAITED FOR LONG UNTIL, SUDDENLY, THE TIMING OF THE LORD CAME GLORIOUSLY!
The Bible testifies (verses 6-7) that both Zechariah and Elizabeth were both righteous before God and the Bible confirms that they were both walking in ALL the commandments and ordinances of The Lord. The Bible also added that they walked before The Lord BLAMELESS,….”But they had no child”

Zechariah was a minister of God, an anointed Priest in the Temple. One of those few Priest who entered the Holy Place to offer prayers of sacrifices to The Lord on behalf of the people. He was so dedicated to his duties and did not allow his painful need to hinder his calling and services to The Lord. He continued ministering with all his heart…though he needed a child.
The Bible confirms that they were both well advanced in years, so, imagine all manners of prayers they would have prayed in waiting for an answer from The Lord. Imagine the number of fasting they would have had…Yet, they were still confirmed to be RIGHTEOUS after all those years of waiting. Then, one morning, the answer to all the prayers came, when an angel appeared before him, at the side of the altar.

Luke 1:13
But the angel said to him, “Do not be afraid, Zacharias, for your prayer is heard; and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John.
The angel said: “…for your prayer is heard”, indicating that God was aware of all those years of prayers and fasting.

IT WAS AN INDICATION THAT GOD WAS WATCHING AND FOLLOWING A SPECIFIC TIMING IN HIS CALENDAR
THAT HE HAS NOT ANSWERED YOUR PRAYERS DOES NOT MEAN YOUR PRAYERS ARE NOT HEARD.
You must Wait For His Timing.
WHEN GOD IS THE AUTHOR OF A DELAY, HE IS PLANNING SOMETHING BIG.
Have you Prayed and Prayed and thought God has not heard your Prayers?
HE HEARD ALL YOUR PRAYERS!.
Have you Waited and Waited for Him and you thought He has ignored you?
NO! HE HAS YOU IN MIND.
HE IS WATCHING AND WAITING FOR HIS GLORIOUS TIMING.
YOU WILL SOON SHOUT FOR JOY!
