DON’T BE ASHAMED OF WHERE THE GRACE OF GOD TOOK YOU FROM!!!

-Pastor Bimbo Animashaun

If you ever want to go far with God, fulfil your destiny and finish strong, you must learn to make copious references to the Grace of God.

A man cannot be GREATER than what the Grace of God has made him. A minister is as strong as the Grace of God upon his life.

You cannot go far with God if you place your personal prestige or reputation above His Grace at work in your life.

To have access to His REVELATIONS, sometimes you have to “sacrifice” your REPUTATION and fall into the warmth of His loving embrace.

You see, there’s nothing wrong in packaging but when it comes to your personal relationship with the Lord, there’s nothing like packaging.

Be real. He knows you more than you know yourself and He supplies His Grace to make up for your weakness.

Genuine, great and authentic ministries do not thrive on wrong impressions but on the power of His Grace.

Therefore don’t ever be ashamed of where the Grace of God took you from.

Don’t preach or teach as if you’re a superstar or that you fell from Heaven; you’re coming from somewhere and God’s Grace has brought you thus far.

Sometimes in ministry, we don’t want to talk about where we’re coming from because we feel it is demeaning but friends, that’s wrong thinking.

Yes you were at a level before but haven’t you ever thought that but for His Grace, you could have remained at that level?

Ministers, we need to wake up. There’s nothing to gain trying to obliterate your history in the call.

Talk about it as promtped by the Spirit and you may be helping a generation from derailing or from giving up.

Why are you telling people that from day one that you started church, you packed everywhere when you know you aren’t telling the truth?

Why are you telling people that in your 30 years of ministry, every dead you prayed for was raised and you yourself know that that’s not correct?

Why are you saying that you have never been afraid before when indeed you know within yourself that you have been afraid several times but the Grace of God came through for you?

Why did you say that you have never visited the hospital or taken drugs for the past 40 years when indeed you have a private doctor and you have been admitted in the hospital a couple of times?

Why are you telling the people that it’s not by fasting and prayer but simple faith in the Word when indeed when the devil wanted to finish you in ministry, you embarked on long fast without a specific date to end it?

Now let me balance this friends; it’s quite alright to talk about your experience in the light of the Word especially if it tallies with any of the foregoing or similar ones but my point is that NEVER GIVE FALSE IMPRESSIONS.

I heard this statement in the Spirit two days ago, “DON’T BE ASHAMED OF WHERE THE GRACE OF GOD TOOK YOU FROM” and the Holy Spirit spoke to my heart to talk about it.

You see friend, it doesn’t reduce you talking about where you’re coming from and how His Grace has helped you.

There are young ministers today who are under pressure and some even feel they’re under a spell when they hear some statements from people they look up to and they’re wondering if they’re truly at the centre of God’s will for their lives.

No matter how passionate you are in ministry, some things require the process of time and the patience of faith to mature.

So don’t kill yourself. Don’t develop a high blood pressure. And don’t ever cave in to depression.

Many times the things people experienced on the road of the call are for the learning and admonition of the younger generation.

1 CORINTHIANS 10:11
Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and THEY ARE WRITTEN FOR OUR ADMONITION, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

If you’re a minister who has suffered rejection in the past, don’t preach as if you’re a superstar but proclaim the workings of His Grace during your journey.

Some Pastors preach as if they have never been “tempted” before in ministry, so they’re trying to meet up with people’s expectation because people see them as “angels” and not as “anointed men”.

And if eventually they’re not able to meet up with people’s expectation, they relapse into depression.

Archbishop Benson Idahosa once talked about how he was tempted to take a beautiful house in the United States offered him by Dr. T. L. Osborn on an extremely flexible payment arrangement.

Papa said jocularly that he never knew that he could become “a false prophet” to himself because everything within him was telling him to take it whereas God instructed him not to take it but to go back to Nigeria.

He obeyed God; came back to Nigeria and the God of Heaven gave him MUCH MORE in Africa than all what he saw in America.

Pastor E. A. Adeboye once shared how he felt discouraged and he almost fell into depression because he thought he was labouring so much but people didn’t appreciate him until God sent a little girl to encourage him with a piece of cake.

Bishop David Oyedepo spoke recently about how he’s trying to write a book detailing his journey and at the end of the day he discovered that the challenges were not captured in the book.

So, he dedicated a whole chapter writing about the challenges on the road so that future generations can be comforted, strengthened and encouraged through the outworking of Grace in his ministry over the years.

Many years ago, Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo came to preach at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife; I was there LIVE and while he was ministering that night at Amphi Theatre, the sound system suddenly went off.

And he kept preaching; he told us that that’s not a big deal, and that since the 70s when he started preaching, he was used to preaching without microphone.

Of course the sound was fixed in a couple of minutes but his response to that situation is noteworthy.

He could have said, based on his UK experience (remember he has the largest church in Western Europe) that such sound mishap was rubbish and those who experience such should clarify well from God if they’re truly called into ministry and that could ruin the hope of a generation.

Truth is that it doesn’t reduce you friend to talk about where Grace took you from because YOU ARE WHAT YOU ARE BY HIS GRACE.

The Apostle Paul talked at length about how he was the least of all the apostles but he also spoke about how Grace lifted him – 1 Cor.15:9-10.

Same Paul talked about how he was neck-deep in religious bigotry but he also spoke about how Grace lifted him – Gal.1:13-16.

I think this is one of the core secrets of David. He understood GRACE!!!

As a matter of fact, the Bible refers to David as the man who was raised up on high.

2 SAMUEL 23:1
Now these be the last words of David. David the son of Jesse said, and THE MAN WHO WAS RAISED UP ON HIGH, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel, said,

David did not package before the Lord. He danced with all his might before the God of Israel so much so that when his wife, Michal, the daughter of Saul accused him of not protecting his REPUTATION, he told her that he was dancing before the God of Israel who chose him before her father.

Please read that story here:

2 SAMUEL 6:14-23
14 AND DAVID DANCED BEFORE THE LORD WITH ALL HIS MIGHT; and David was girded with a linen ephod.

15 So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the LORD with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet.

16 And as the ark of the LORD came into the city of David, MICHAL SAUL’S DAUGHTER LOOKED THROUGH A WINDOW, AND SAW KING DAVID LEAPING AND DANCING BEFORE THE LORD; AND SHE DESPISED HIM IN HER HEART.

17 And they brought in the ark of the LORD, and set it in his place, in the midst of the tabernacle that David had pitched for it: AND DAVID OFFERED BURNT OFFERINGS AND PEACE OFFERINGS BEFORE THE LORD.

18 And as soon as David had made an end of offering burnt offerings and peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the LORD of hosts.

19 And he dealt among all the people, even among the whole multitude of Israel, as well to the women as men, to every one a cake of bread, and a good piece of flesh, and a flagon of wine. So all the people departed every one to his house.

20 Then David returned to bless his household. And Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said, How glorious was the king of Israel to day, who uncovered himself to day in the eyes of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the vain fellows shamelessly uncovereth himself!

21 AND DAVID SAID UNTO MICHAL, IT WAS BEFORE THE LORD, WHICH CHOSE ME BEFORE THY FATHER, and before all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the LORD, over Israel: therefore will I play before the LORD.

22 And I will yet be more vile than thus, and will be base in mine own sight: and of the maidservants which thou hast spoken of, of them shall I be had in honour.

23 Therefore Michal the daughter of Saul had no child unto the day of her death.

Very deep lessons here. Beloved, as you walk with the Lord everyday and follow His promptings in your heart while preaching or teaching, DON’T EVER BE ASHAMED OF WHERE THE GRACE OF GOD TOOK YOU FROM.

Remember, YOU’RE AS STRONG AS GOD’S GRACE UPON YOUR LIFE and NO MAN CAN BE GREATER THAN WHAT THE GRACE OF GOD HAS MADE HIM.

As you talk more about and project THE GRACE OF GOD upon your life and ministry, you will see it multiplied MORE AND MORE in bountiful measures and manifold dimensions.

May the Lord give us understanding!

Amen!!

I trust this is a blessing Sirs and Mas?

Jesus Makes All Things Beautiful!!!

Shalom!!!
