“And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships.” (Mark 4: 36)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

In our Focal Scripture, Jesus got into the ship that would take Him to the other side. There were some other little ships that followed. Notice that Jesus had the option of choosing between the little ships and the (bigger) ship He went for, and He didn’t go for the little ships. The ships were meant to carry people, and He went for one that could take His entire disciples. He went for the ship with higher capacity. He chose the ship with more capacity.

Friend, there comes a time when you must decide to be that ship that has higher capacity. If you have to be that ship that will carry Jesus, then make your capacity bigger. If you will become a carrier of the glory of God, then step up your game on many fronts. If you must be that ship that will carry Jesus, grow your prayer capacity; grow your consecration; you need to be more in order to carry Jesus.

Jesus was intentional in choosing the bigger ship when it was time to cross to the other side. Discern that when the Master is set for a movement to the other side, He will not choose a small ship. If you have chosen to be a little ship, you just might be excluding yourself from being chosen for strategic assignments. God will not always leave a big ship that has more capacity in order to patronize your little ship. You are better off being more.

If you desire a greater manifestation of the glory and power of God, then it’s time to stretch yourself beyond your current capacity. Be more in the place of prayer, word, wisdom, knowledge, efficiency, etc. Dare to be more than your current movement needs. Dare to be more than your contemporaries are. Dare to be more than is convenient. Any life that will carry and manifest the greatness of God must grow bigger.

If you remain a small ship, you just may never be able or opportune to carry the fullness of Jesus. Some miracles may never come your way if you remain a small ship. Stretch yourself; grow your capacity.

Isaiah 35: 3 says: “Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees.”

Declare With Me: I choose to be more; I stretch my capacity to be more, in Jesus’ name!
