“LAUGH AT THE STORM !”

Mark 4:35-41 KJV

[35] And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side.

[36] And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships.

[37] And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.

[38] And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?

[39] And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

[40] And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?

[41] And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?

He was the One who commanded the disciples to “pass over to the other side”. And the Disciples obeyed His voice and sent the multitude away who had attended His crusade and it was evening time. As they were going in the boat across the sea, “there arose a GREAT STORM OF WIND and the WAVE of the storm beat into the ship, so that the SHIP WAS NOW FULL OF WATER. And do you know what it means for a ship to be full of water from the sea: IT WAS ABOUT TO SINK.

They obeyed the Lord on this journey, and the journey seemed to be a voyage of death. They did exactly what the Lord told them to do, and their ship was about to sink now….THEY ENCOUNTERED A GREAT STORM OF WIND after obeying the Word of God.

THEY DID NOT DISOBEY THE LORD…YET THEY WERE IN DANGER OF OBEYING HIS VOICE!
THEY DID NOT DESPISE HIS WORDS, YET THEY WERE IN TERRIBLE DANGER.
THEY WENT WHERE THE LORD TOLD THEM TO GO…AND THEY ENCOUNTERED TERRIBLE STORM….!

But then….., Halleluyah! JESUS WAS IN THE SHIP WITH THEM…!
Oh…But Alas!….He was Sleeping while they were panicking. HE WAS QUIET WHILE THEY WERE SHOUTING FOR FEAR….!
THEY WERE FEARING FOR THEIR LIFE…ON THE JOURNEY THEY WERE COMMANDED TO EMBARK UPON…!

Then,…they went to wake Him up….Then He stood up and raised up His hand in Authority and Power and spoke: “PEACE, BE STILL !”
And there was a great calm upon the sea. The anger of the sea disappeared. GREAT CALM upon the waters and began to sail smoothly till they got to their destination.

ARE YOU WONDERING?
You are wondering that you did all what the Lord told you to do and yet, your life is in danger.
You obeyed the voice of the Lord and yet encountered a GREAT STORM in the process.
It was the Lord who ordered you to cross over to A NEW IDEA, A NEW PLAN, A NEW WAY, A NEW PLACE, A NEW CITY, ANOTHER JOB,….
Yet a Mighty Storm is about to sink the Ship…!

Worst still…in all your panicking and fright and cries…IT SEEMS THIS MASTER AND LORD WHO COMMANDED YOU HAD SLEPT OFF OR TRAVELLED OR IGNORED YOUR FEAR AND FRIGHT OR SOMETHING.

The Comedy of the whole issue is this:
Will the Ship sink and Drown Jesus?
Will the Sea kill the Master who Created it?
Will Jesus die on His way to another Mission Work?
While the Storm was raging foolishly,…Jesus Ignored it, because it could only rage foolishly and could do nothing more than that.

What would happen if the Disciples had not gone to wake up the Master?
Would the Sea had Drowned its Maker? LIE!!!!!!

SO WHEN JESUS WOKE UP….HE REBUKED THE STORM FOR DISTURBING HIS TRIP….Ah-a-a-a! The Storm shied back in shame and remained quiet all through its Maker’s Journey….!
What a Coward Storm…in the Presence of its Maker!

Then, Jesus turned to His Disciples and rebuked them:
“Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?”
That is:
THEY OUGHT TO HAVE KNOWN THAT AS LONG AS HE WAS IN THE SHIP WITH THEM, THEY WOULD NOT HAVE PANICKED.

Are you in the same situation?
You are panicking…Isn’tit?
Yet, you have done all you did because the Lord told you to do it…
You are afraid this Ship might sink you at anytime…?
WITH JESUS INSIDE THE SHIP? SERIOUSLY?
AND YOU THINK JESUS WOULD DROWN?
Are you kidding me?

Come-on…..LAUGH AT THE STORM…and let me hear you from here!
I say LAUGH!
I CAN’T HEAR YOU YET…..! Still Thinking Jesus would Drown?
Seriously?
NOW LAUGH……AT THE STORM!

Good Morning.
