Sometimes in marriage, based on exigencies of the moment or superior reasons triggered by current realities, you have to GIVE UP SOME RIGHTS for the greater good and betterment of the marriage.
You cannot ALWAYS hold on to your RIGHTS and be referred to as a sensitive partner.
Marriage sometimes demands A LEVEL OF COMPROMISE between couples that will of course not hurt the morality or sensibility of Scriptures.
If you continually hold on to your RIGHTS in marriage, you will eventually be WRONG.
Marriage is not a courtroom where cases are always argued out; it is a platform to synergize, harmonize and reconcile differences in the light of mutual understanding.
THOSE WHO ALWAYS HAVE THEIR WAY IN MARRIAGE ARE NOT MATURE.
The true test of your maturity in marriage is your ability to please your partner without “offending” God or violating His Word.
Let me paint two scenarios here. Imagine a marriage where both parties are ALWAYS holding on to their RIGHTS and none of them is willing to bulge, you know of course that it will become a theatre of conflicts and brouhaha.
And then imagine another marriage where the husband and wife are ALWAYS ready to let go of their INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS for the greater good of the marriage, you know surely that such a home will be a showpiece of Heaven on earth.
The truth is that at some points in your marital relationship, you will have to forgo some of your RIGHTS because you’re driven by something weightier.
It doesn’t mean you’re WEAK; it’s indeed a testimony of your inner strength and stamina.
STRENGTH IN MARRIAGE IS NOT MEASURED BY YOUR ABILITY TO OPERATE LIKE A COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF; IT IS MEASURED BY YOUR ABILITY TO PUT YOUR PARTNER FIRST IN ALL THINGS.
Unfortunately, AGE DOES NOT EQUAL MATURITY. MATURITY IS A PRODUCT OF RESPONSIBILITY.
Until you begin to take RESPONSIBILITY for your marriage, it will remain a LIABILITY.
Giving up your RIGHTS sometimes doesn’t mean those RIGHTS are bad or illegitimate. No No No!
They are indeed GOOD and LEGITIMATE but you may have to put them on hold sometimes as a show of sensitivity to your partner.
Permit me to conclude this thought by the words of the Holy Spirit that fell from the lips of the Apostle Paul.
EPHESIANS 5:21
Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.
Apply this scripture to your marriage and see what happens.
May your marriage be a perfect, spotless and immaculate reflection of all the Glories and Beauties of Heaven in Jesus’ Precious Name.
PEACE BE MULTIPLIED UNTO YOU!
Amen!!
I trust this made little sense Sirs and Mas?
Jesus Makes All Things Beautiful!!!
