“Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.” (Matthew 25: 1)
Our Focal Scripture speaks of how the ten virgins took their lamps and went forth to meet the bridegroom. They took their lamps; they took their lights; they were burning and shining lights, and they embarked on a journey to go and meet the bridegroom. The purpose of their movement was clearly mentioned, and they followed through until they arrived at the place where they should meet the bridegroom.
Friend, in 2023, let yours be a journey of focus. Focus on the purpose of your journey. Focus on that mission you already set out to accomplish. Focus on the reason why you set out with your light in the first place. Focus on the reason why you have chosen to be a carrier of the light of God. Focus on the reason why you elected to start your movement to whatever direction. Keep your eyes focused on the purpose of your movement.
If those ten virgins wanted to find side attractions on their way to meet the bridegroom, they would have found enough distractions, but they chose to focus on their movement. If you want to find distractions in 2023, there would be so many waiting to attract you away from your purpose. If you want to abandon your journey and purpose midway because of needless distractions, you will find more than enough plausible reasons.
In 2023, it’s not enough to start a thing. Ensure that you are committed enough to follow through. Ensure that you have enough commitment to follow through the projects you will start this year. Be committed to follow through in the resolutions you have made for this year. Be committed to take your passion and dedication to God to a higher level this year. Be committed to stay on the grind until you hit the target you set out to hit.
Remember, for every purpose, there will be several side attractions and distractions. Stay focused; don’t let the enemy make you lose your track.
Isaiah 50: 7 says: “For the Lord GOD will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed.”
Declare With Me: In 2023, I choose to stay focused on purpose, in Jesus’ name!
