LIKE I said in the first of this series that challenges will surely come and that is the truth but the good news is that we will surely overcome those challenges as Jesus did not promise us a challenge free life but an over comers life.
That is why he has given us some spiritual mechanisms at which we can use to conquer any challenge that may come our way and one of them is FAITH.
Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. – Ephesians 6:16
This passage is relates to us that faith is a divinely armor of protection against any form of adversary which is capable of quenching that adversary.
Another thing you need to understand is that if you want God to step into your adversary, you need faith because Hebrews 11:6 says But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. You can’t get God pleased without faith; your belief is what draws Gods attention. It was by faith Sarah could overcame her challenge of bareness (Hebrews 11:11). You can read the whole chapter eleven of the book of Hebrews and see how the patriarchs overcame by faith.
That means if you want to overcome challenges faith should be the option to consider. The question now is how do I put this faith to work?
How Does Faith Works?
Though faith is a kingdom mystery which is available to all believers but it is not magical because there are principles at which you can use, in putting your faith to work.
The first thing you need to understand is that the seed of your faith begin to geminate by the word of God. So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. – Romans 10:17
Faith is an agreement with God that He will help you overcome that challenge as all things are possible with God but faith is needed according to Mark 10:1.
You can’t say you have faith which is it not rooted in anything, that is any empty faith. That is why you need to feed yourself with the word of God. The first hearing in that scripture talks about knowing (Being Aware) while the second hearing talks about understanding. So you don’t just read the word because you were asked to do so by your pastor, you study the word to the point of understanding.
Where you locate what the word of God says about that your situation. I tell you, there is a word of God for you about that situation you are passing through now but until you locate that word there is o way you will have the faith to overcome that challenge.
What makes your faith a substance is the word of God, Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen- Hebrews 11:1. What you can actually hold on to for the delivery of your victory as evidence – a proof that you believe God will surely see you through.
The second thing is building it:
See it is not enough to have understanding, you will need to allow the seed grow to the mature point of manifestation. I tell you, faith is in levels and there is a certain level of faith that you need to accumulate for you to overcome that particular challenge.
Now how do you build your faith?
After locating the word of God then you begin to pray with it in the light of that scripture in Holy Ghost. Jude: 20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost.
When you do that, the word sinks into your spirit which gives you confidence that your victory is assured.
Another thing is that you have to put that faith to work. You start applying in the faith by acting as an over comer.
Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: show me thy faith without thy works, and I will show thee my faith by my works. 19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? – James 2:18-20.
You can’t sit down there and hope things will be fine, if truly the spirit of faith has jumped on you, you have to put that faith into action because it will always move you.
Looking at the Patriarch of faith in Hebrews 11.
Noah by faith moved to build the ark, Abraham by faith left his father’s house, through faith Sarah conceived, by faith Moses refused to be called what God did not call him and stick with God.
Faith without work is dead! Jump up now and put your faith to work that is how you overcome!
You will see that after the word by faith and the name, what follows is a verb – an action word. You too by faith put your name and the action you have to take.
Through that faith go and subdue kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtain promise and stop the mouth of lions (Hebrews 11:33) Go and obtain good report (Hebrews 11:38).
Remember that your faith without action remains dormant!
